is Acupuncture? |

Acupuncture
is a tried and tested system of medicine. The Chinese and other
eastern cultures have been using acupuncture to restore, premote
and maintain good health for thousands of years. |

Acupuncturists
insert fine needles at chosen points along the patients channels
of energy. The aim is to stimulate the body’s own healing response
and restore it’s natural balance. |
|
|

|
Nowadays
more and more people are finding this long established therapy can
offer an effective solution to all manner of today’s ills.
Acupuncture is now accepted all over the world as a valid system
of healthcare and in the UK there are currently over 2,800 qualified
acupuncturists registered with the British Acupuncture Council. |

Anna
trained at
the College of Integrated Chinese
Medicine in Reading, Berkshire, which is affiliated to Kingston
University. After receiving her Degree and Licence, she set up
her practice in Reading, where she now works. |

In
order to extend her level of Acupuncture experience,
Anna joined a Study group of British practitioners who travelled
to Guangzhou (near Hong Kong), in November 2008.
For 3 weeks,
the 15 strong
group observed Chinese
Medicine
being practiced
in
a Chinese hospital. |

lessons in the art of practicing Acupuncture, which has benefited
my patients so much. Not only did I learn from watching the Chinese
doctors, but I found it helpeful to

Before
training as an Acupuncturist, Anna was an athlete,
representing England and Great Britain at Hockey for over a decade.
She was involved in many competitions including The Olympics
and The Commonwealth Games. |

|

very well. It is not only the pain management, but also the emotional
